Expect the miraculous

This is John the Baptist. He has been raised from the dead; that is why these miraculous powers are at work in him. (Matthew 14:2)

These are the words of Herod upon hearing of the miracles Jesus performed, the context of this verse is probably better explain once we read 1 John 26-27 “I baptize with water,” John replied, “but among you stands one you do not know. He is the one who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”, here John is talking about Jesus, He is the one who came after him. Jesus' performed many miracles throughout His life, though that didn't stop at His death and resurrection. On the day of Pentacost the Holy Spirit was sent and filled all those who believed the gospel message of Jesus Christ, giving them the same miraculous power that Jesus had (Acts 2: 1-12). This was significant because it is the same Holy Spirit that fills believing Christians today, as I prepare for bible week this year I am expecting to see miracles performed through His people.
